The new Airbus A320 ‘Spirit of Solomons’ H4-SIB has arrived this afternoon in Honiara.
Minister o Finance Harry Kuma and Permanent Secretary’ of the Ministry of communication and aviation Moses Virivolomo officiated the arrival.
Also Dignitaries, from the Australia and New Zealand High Commissions as well as Solomon Airlines management, members of the media and the public turned up at the Honiara International Airport to witnesses the inaugural arrival.
The official arrival was celebrated with a water canon salute, a welcome by Kustom dancers and cultural blessing at the Honiara International Airport after 2pm this afternoon.
Solomon Airlines describes the arrival as signalling a new era for the national carrier.
Today’s inaugural commercial flight operated the Brisbane-Munda-Honiara route.
