SU’U SECOND SCHOOL TO RECEIVE COMPUTERS FROM GEORGIAN GOV’T

Su’u National Secondary in Malaita Province became the second recipient of computers, a generous gesture by the Georgian Government to the people of Solomon Islands.

A government statement yesterday said the school’s deputy principal Colman Keniherea took delivery of five new computers donated by the Georgian Government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade.

The Georgian government sent its first batch of 50 computers through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade to the Solomon Islands government late last year.

Handing over the computers yesterday, Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs Beraki Jino said Su’u as one of the Senior Secondary Schools in the country deserved to be among the first recipients of the computers from the Georgian Government.

He said on behalf of the Government of Georgia, he is happy to donate the five computers to Su’u School and hopes they will be able to assist the staff and students in their studies and work.

Upon receiving the computers, Su’u Deputy Principle Mr. Keniherea said the donation has come at a right time with the school just about to start its academic year.
