The new National Aquatics Centre is a bonus for Swimming in Solomon Islands, says our young swimming athletes that are competing in the Pacific Games 2023 in Honiara.
Speaking to SIBC in an exclusive interview today, female Swimmer Hannah Kamaria said “Solomon Islands has a strong future for Swimming, now that we have the needed facilities to take the development of the sport to the next level.
“Currently we have a young swimming team, and if we continue to train the new generation in this sport, no doubts, we will have a very competitive team for future tournaments,” Hannah said.
Meanwhile, New-Zealand based Swimmer, Nico Uiamanu Joe added that maintaining the facilities at the National Aquatic Centre is very important after this Pacific Games.
“If only we can maintain the facilities here, that would be better. We must keep this Centre nice and clean and doesn’t go old and disgusting,” Nico uttered.
The swimmers said, they will use the facilities at the National Aquatics Centre to train harder to improve their swimming techniques and skills, for future competitions. –ENDS//
