The Magistrate Court will sentence a Taiwanese man convicted of attempting to export millions of dollars worth of tubi overseas, next week.
Hsieh Fu after a one day trial, was found guilty and convicted on one count of attempted export of prohibited goods and evasion of prohibited export of goods.
The Court will hear his sentencing submissions and mitigation this Friday, before delivering his sentence Tuesday next week.
Mr Fu is currently on bail.
Meanwhile, in a separate case, a woman denies she obtained more than $44,000 last year by false pretence.
Cathy Roy appeared before the Magistrate Court yesterday and denied all six counts of the false pretence allegations she was charged with.
It is alleged Ms Roy offered to act as a proxy to make payments on behalf of the Managing Director of Far East Enterprise Peter Zheng, to Tower insurance company.
The allegations say she requested and received several payments from Mr Zheng, that he later found out, were never received by the Insurance company.
A pre-trial conference was fixed for the 21st of this month.
