The project baseline study of the Tina River Hydro Power Development project has been completed.
The Ministry of Mines, Energy and Rural Electrification confirmed the study is completed, in a press release today.
The Ministry says this preparatory phase study includes studies on feasibility, environment and social impact assessment, a traditional land identification process, and benefits share arrangement of the project.
The statement adds the Ministry is encouraged from what the project has achieved so far and is now supporting the Tina Project team to push forward with the project.
Meanwhile, the parties involved will advertise the development of the project for international tender in April this year.
SIBC News understands the implementation phase of the project will start this year and its construction will start in 2015.
