The Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Honourable Milner Tozaka presented a cheque of 11 million Vatu to Vanuatu’s Minister of Climate Change Honourable James Bule in Port Vila today to support relief efforts by the Government of Vanuatu following the aftermath of cyclone Pam.
Foreign Minister Tozaka expressed on behalf of the government and the people of Solomon Islands heartfelt sorrow to the government and people of Vanuatu for the loss of lives and properties following the devastation caused by cyclone Pam.
A statement from the Government Communications says Minister Tozaka stressed that as a Melanesia neighbour, Wantok and member of the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG), Solomon Islands stands ready to assist the government of Vanuatu following the horrendous impact caused by cyclone Pam.
