Traffic offenders have claimed in Court they paid fines to traffic officers who arrested them expecting they will be free of further prosecution.
Two traffic offenders told the Court they paid fines to the traffic officers who arrested them and see no reason why they should also pay fines to the Court.
One of the offenders paid three hundred dollars and the other paid one hundred dollars.
Both claimed the officers told them they will no longer be prosecuted if they pay the fines.
But when the Director of Kukum Traffic was contacted, he said, he was not aware this.
He appeals to both offenders to make an official complaint to the Professional Standard Internal Unit within the Ministry of Police.
He says if these allegations are true, the officers will be dealt with accordingly.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Esther Lelapitu has warned offenders not to pay fines to duty officers but wait for the courts decision.
