A two-days bilateral talk between Solomon Islands and New Zealand has ended successfully in Honiara today.
Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare met with New Zealand ForeignMinister Murray McCully and discussed important areas of development in which New Zealand has involved in the country.
Mr Sogavare told a media conference today the discussions have also included reforms in the Aviation sector to which the New Zealand Government remains committed.
“On the Aviation reform, of course, the New Zealand Government is committed to that reform because of their commitment to tar seal, of course, the extension of the Munda and Nusatupe airstrips, our commitment to see a serious reform in the aviation function.”
Meanwhile, New Zealand Foreign Minister Murray McCully said they have taken the opportunity to discuss areas of transformation where partnerships can be useful.
“We’ve taken the opportunity to discuss the areas of transformation where partnerships can play a useful part in areas like fisheries, like the development of aviation and tourism. These are areas in which our Government is deeply interested.”
