Communities in Visale, North West Guadalcanal have asked for a police post to be established in the constituency.
The communities made the appeal when Guadalcanal Province police visited Visale on Saturday.
The police officers were in Visale to conduct awareness talks on maintaining law and order in communities in the area.
The police also spoke to people about the negative effects of alcohol and drug abuse.
SIBC’s stringer for North Guadalcanal John Toki reports, people acknowledged the initiative taken by Guadalcanal Community Policing Officers as a way to live in a free crime community.
Toki also reports the community is asking for a police post in North West Guadalcanal.
“They have also asked for a police post to be established in the area to help with community policing.”
