Wale Congratulates Mary Daniella Zae Garu on Election Victory

The Parliamentary Wing Leader of the Solomon Islands Democratic Party and Leader of Opposition, Hon. Matthew Wale, has congratulated the newly elected Member of Parliament for West Guadalcanal Constituency, Mrs. Mary Daniella Zae Garu.

“On behalf of the Solomon Islands Democratic Party, I would like to congratulate Mrs. Garu on her election victory,” Hon. Wale said.

Hon Wale expressed his delight at the outcome, describing it as both fitting and encouraging that Mrs. Garu can now carry forward the legacy of her late husband, the former MP for West Guadalcanal, the late Hon. Moses Garu.

“The late Hon. Moses Garu was a member of the Solomon Islands Democratic Party and a man of great integrity. It was a tragic loss to the constituency and the nation that he was unable to complete his term,” Hon. Wale lamented.

Hon Wale however said that Mrs. Garu, herself a leader in her own right, now has the opportunity to continue the development goals and aspirations she and her husband shared.

“Mrs. Garu has the opportunity to honour a legacy while also shaping the future of West Guadalcanal,” Hon. Wale added.

Hon. Wale concluded that the people of West Guadalcanal have entrusted Mrs. Garu with a significant responsibility, and that he has every confidence she will serve with distinction, wisdom, and compassion.
