A tender notice has been issued by the Western Provincial Government that will see the road in Gizo finally undergo a face-lift.
The deteriorating condition of roads in Gizo has been a long time issue for the provincial capital.
But speaking to SIBC News recently, Deputy Premier Wayne Maepio says repairing the road is a top priority for the Government.
Mr Maepio says they recently issued a tender notice to repair the roads.
“We will look forward for the CDB Tender board in Honiara to consider which contract has won the bid before it comes down to Gizo,
which is what we are happy with because now the road issue is a priority of the National government as well as it in is in process
now. At this time, we look forward as to who won the tender and when the work will start.”
