World Health Organisation, WHO is currently working closely with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services in its health response efforts to the recent disaster.
A WHO statement yesterday said this is expected to strengthen the health sector needs to include preventative and curative services, public health, vector control, food safety and nutrition, strengthening surveillance systems, conducting risk assessments, and risk communication.
Officer-In-Charge of the WHO Office in Solomon Islands Dr Audrey Aumua says the work needed should be massive as health and nutritional needs of the people on the ground are important.
