Police at Henderson have arrested a 16-year-old male suspect for the alleged murder of his cousin brother at Boboru village North East Guadalcanal on 23 December 2021.
The suspect was charged with one count of murder Contrary to Section 200 of the Penal Code.
He was remanded at the Rove Correctional Services of Solomon Islands and will appear at Honiara Central Magistrates’ Court on 5th January 2022.
Provincial Police Commander for Guadalcanal Province, Superintendent John Foru says, at around 6pm the deceased was drinking alcohol with the suspect and three other boys.
An argument broke out between the suspect and the deceased after the suspect walked out to urinate and heard the other three boys asking about where he was.
The deceased told them that it is not a matter of concern because the suspect does not bought any alcohol.
The suspect then returned and accused the deceased.
He allegedly clenched a kitchen knife from his chest bag and stabbed the deceased on his left side chest.
