Police at Tingoa in Renbel province are investigating an attempted suicide incident at Lavagu over the weekend.
This is in relation to a 21 year old man who attempted to commit suicide after an arguement with his family members.
Police Commissioner Mostyn Mangau confirmed this in his media conference today.
“It is alleged that the young man disagreed over the usage of phone. He asked his dad to have access to his dad’s phone but was refused so he attempted to commit suicide,” Commissioner Mangau said.
He said police have conducted an inquiry into the incident.
“Taking our own life is not easy. Our life is so precious and such matters should be addressed through family discussions, elders, church leaders and through existing organisations within our country,” Mr Mangau said.
