Chief Dickson Maepoina from West Are’are has called on the Democratic Coalition for Change (DCC) Government to include the House of Chiefs when conducting consultations for development in that region.
SIBC News Stringer Mr Gabriel Riotarau reports, Chief Maepoina raised this view after realising chiefs are excluded in a recent national consultation on the proposed Wairokai Township Project in West Are’are.
“They knew that chiefs were not invited to this consultation so the chief called on the government to recognise or include chiefs especially house of chiefs like Arahanimane to involve in the consultations.”
