Chiefs of Ward 17 in East Kwaio, Malaita Province, have successfully launched their newly formed Uru Council of Chiefs for Change at Atoifi Station.
The council is formed purposely to address various development issues in East Kwaio.
Mr. Enoch Idui reports, thousands of people witnessed the launching including Malaita Provincial Premier Hon. Peter Ramohia and his delegation.
“Thousands of people from East Kwaio in ward 17 have officially witnessed the launching of the Uru Council of Chiefs for Change at Atoifi today.”
Mr Idui also reports, Malaita Provincial Premier Hon. Ramohia assures the council of his provincial government’s commitment to work closely with the council to develop East Kwaio.
“He challenged the chiefs, saying that his attendance at the event indicates his support for what they have established and he will work together with them in whatever activities the council will work towards in terms of development.”
