The Government must not fail the people of Solomon Islands.
The Leader of Opposition made the statement today as he called on the Government to tell the nation how and when it will roll out their work programs and start spending the budget.
Jeremiah Manele says the Government is slow to implement the ‘People’s Budget’ and could end up not achieving much because of trying to do too much in a short timeframe.
The Leader of Opposition also reiterated the most serious challenge to the execution of the 2015 budget is time and this is likely to be the case right now.
He said it is obvious that the Government has yet to start spending and this is simply inadequate with only five months left to execute the budget.
The Opposition Leader said people are waiting, the budget is in their name and so they must ensure much-needed services are delivered to them, especially the majority of people in the rural areas.
He also says the Government has a huge task ahead and so many promises to fulfil, and it must not fail its people.
