Malaita Provincial Premier, Peter Ramohia is urging the Ministry of Mines to tell the truth about the recent discovery of suspected gold at Ontong Java.
Early this month, villagers from Ontong Java discovered some metal like products from a sunken ship suspected to be gold.
It was later reported through the media after a chemical test, they were platinum.
But Premier Ramohia insists, the Ministry of Mines must reveal the truth if the findings have some values.
“Malaita Province is of the stand that our people of Ontong Java must not be victimised if the findings or discovery is of great value or any value. That’s the first thing I’d like to say, that our people must not be victimised.”
