As the Solomon Islands national football team prepares to face off against New Zealand in the second leg of the World Cup Qualifier at Lawson Tama Stadium, police are managing security for the game.
The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force security operation started yesterday. It includes visibility patrols in and around Honiara and traffic escorts for the New Zealand team until its departure tomorrow.
“About 100 officers will be involved, including few members from the police headquarter PRT members, the Police Response Team,” RSIPF Deputy Commissioner Gabriel Manelusi said.
