The Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands (RAMSI) congratulates the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) on its historical achievement in the deployment of its members to join a United Nations Peacekeeping Mission.
The RSIPF hosted a commissioning parade on 18 August 2016 at the Rove Police Headquarters to honour and farewell the first contingent of five officers who will join the UN Mission in Darfur in Sudan, Africa.
Acting RAMSI Special Coordinator, Masi Lomaloma, said, when RAMSI arrived in Solomon Islands in 2003, the RSIPF was in a state that a deployment to a UN peacekeeping Mission was something that was thought to be impossible.
