The Telecommunications Commission has warned all mobile phone users in Solomon Islands to be aware of a fraud text message containing a phone number and a password currently in circulation.
Commission spokesman Haggai Arumae told Unified Voice, the text message has all signs of a fraudulent scam, adding it is an international scam.
“That is an international scam aimed at getting information from your mobile phones, and they will use them as a fraudulent scam, where your confidential information like your bank account, they will get it from your mobile phone and then use it to deduct some money from your account if you follow the message and make an overseas call or access your bank account.”
