Tropical cyclone Raquel has been downgraded to a tropical disturbance.
The Solomon Islands Meteorological Services issued the tropical disturbance watch advise today.
It adds, at 5 pm yesterday ex-tropical cyclone Raquel with a central pressure of 1000 hectopascals was located approximately 52 nautical miles south of the Ontong Java atolls and 105 nautical miles northeast of Isabel island.
The Met office said the tropical depression is moving east-northeast at four knots but is expected to move to the south in 24 hours and towards the west later.
It said maximum winds of 35 knots are expected to continue over Malaita, Isabel, Western, Central and Guadalcanal provinces.
Meanwhile, heavy rain which could lead to flash flooding and landslides should continue to occur over these provinces tonight-persisting over the next few days.
Rough to moderate seas and heavy swells with potential coastal flooding are also expected.
It said people should take precautionary measures as associated bad weather can pose threats to lives and property.
