No nomination period extension
The Solomon Islands Electoral Commission maintains candidate nomination period will not be extended. It says this is executed in accordance with the Electoral Act 2018 Section 59 (1) (b). So intending candidates must file their nominations before 4pm Wednesday 20th February.

The Solomon Islands Electoral Commission has yesterday approved additional nomination centres to be established at provincial headquarters throughout the country. The decision was reached following a meeting held by the Commission. Chief Electoral Officer, Mose Saitala confirmed the declaration.

Police this week arrested a fifty year old man for electoral offences and allegedly providing misleading offences. The arrest was made after police received referral from the Solomon Islands Electoral commission. The man breached the electoral act, under section one- one- three, subsection two.
