MAN JAILED FOR ROBBERY
The Magistrate Court this morning sentenced a 27-year-old man to two and a half years imprisonment for armed robbery. Boniface Oiafa pleaded guilty to one count of armed robbery. He was jointly charged with six other men for the offence.

TAIWANESE TO BE SENTENCED FOR ATTEMPTED TUBI EXPORT
The Magistrate Court will sentence a Taiwanese man convicted of attempting to export millions of dollars worth of tubi overseas, next week. Hsieh Fu after a one day trial, was found guilty and convicted on one count of attempted export of prohibited goods and evasion of prohibited export of goods.

HIGH COURT FAREWELLED LONGEST SERVING STAFF, TIMOTHY KWAIMANI
The High Court has farewelled one of its longest serving staff, Timothy Kwaimani. At seventy years of age, Mr Kwaimani retires at the age of seventy years old and after serving the public service for 54 years; 42 of which he spent at the High Court.

A young security guard from Makira Province has pleaded guilty to unlawfully wounding his wife with a pair of scissors during an argument in August last year. The 19-year-old man and his wife argued about the adoption of their child who was in the care of a close relative.

The High Court has sentenced a man with a mental disorder to life imprisonment for stabbing his close relative to death at Town Ground Honiara twelve times in 2013. The man pleaded guilty to manslaughter early this month.

The Chief Justice has called for more training in mobile phone technologies for police investigators. In the court on Thursday last week, Sir Albert Palmer was critical of how police investigators failed to trace call logs of mobile phones that were connected to the 2012 murder of a young woman.
